In October 2015, Living Well partnered with the artist Charlotte Watson and SoxyBeast to help raise awareness and enhance support for men who have been subjected to childhood sexual abuse or sexual assault.

Each month SoxyBeast work with an artist to design a savagely stylish pair of socks and donate funds from their sale to a designated charity. Charlotte Watson chose Living Well.

'Pacific' for Sexual Violence Awareness Month

Through her ‘Pacific’ design Charlotte Watson sought to represent the multiple ‘ripple effects’ of sexual violence. Ripple effects that can leave people feeling adrift and isolated, struggling with overwhelming thoughts and emotions and impacts that can resurface throughout their life and relationships. Ripple effects that can influence people to take action to prevent and turn the tide on sexual violence, to ensure care and support is available, support that can be life saving (46% of men who have been sexually abused report attempting suicide).

The name Pacific was chosen to express the multiple ripple effects of sexual violence and because pacific means ‘peaceful in character or intent.’ Because peace is what we wish for all those subjected to sexual violence.

These socks are lifesavers

Sexual Violence Awareness Month is Socktober
